The Paradoxes of Parenting
My upcoming book, The Paradoxes of Parenting: Where Faith Reveals Common Sense, is a non-fiction, Christian parenting book that outlines the ways the paradoxes in the Christian faith (we must die to live, we are strong when we are weak, etc.) can help parents better decide their direction, inform their perspective, and improve their responses.
As a teacher and professional coach, I’ve noticed over the course of my career that the perspective that a person takes can color an entire interaction for good or ill. This book attempts to help parents shift their perspective so that they can “see” more clearly. Ironically, it is by looking through the sometimes cloudy lens of a paradox that we see best. For example, just like a sunset- both dark and light- is often the most beautiful and memorable moment of the day, when we parent through the paradoxes of our faith, we are at our most beautiful and can create the moments we want to remember.
